Sofia Levin is a culinary travel journalist and presenter who celebrates diversity through food
Sofia Levin is a journalist and presenter who celebrates diversity through food. Driven by insatiable curiosity, you’re more likely to find her munching local delicacies on the side of the road than following in the footsteps of Nigella.
Known for her contagious enthusiasm and sense of adventure, Sofia’s #EatCuriously movement encourages people to order outside their comfort zone to better understand each other and themselves.
Born and raised in multicultural Melbourne, Sofia appreciates the importance of identity and the beauty of diversity. Shortly after her 19th birthday, Sofia found herself staring into the unblinking eyes of a decapitated goat at a night market in Morocco and knew she wanted to be a food and travel journalist. She has explored culture and community through the lens of food ever since.
In 2020 Sofia launched Seasoned Traveller, a website and newsletter dedicated to sharing lesser-known food stories from around the world. She continues to write and review for publications such as Good Food, National Geographic Traveller, Gourmet Traveller, The Guardian, Lonely Planet, delicious., SBS Food, Domain Review, Broadsheet, in-flight magazines and more.
Sofia’s natural on-screen style and dedication saw her become a MasterChef Australia judge in 2023 alongside Andy Allen, Poh Ling Yeow and Jean-Christophe Novelli. She has starred in video campaigns both locally and internationally, guest-hosted various travel and cooking shows, and reviewed restaurants on national radio. Bolstered by a fiercely loyal social media following, she also promotes tourism destinations through food, MCs events, moderates panels and judges national food competitions.
A passionate communicator and researcher, Sofia’s raison d’être is celebrating culture through food, carving out a more delicious and open-minded world in the process.
